Overview
Tri-Mation Industries has an opportunity for a skilled and motivated Field Service Technician to join our team. In this role, you will travel across the United States to install, set up, and service our industrial machinery at customer sites. Travel is 40% to 60% domestic travel, with possible international travel. This position requires hands-on mechanical and electrical experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment. All travel expenses are covered, and tools, laptop, and company credit card provided. Current U.S. Passport is required.
Responsibilities include:
Travel to customer locations nationwide to install, configure, and commission machines;
Perform mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, and software setup;
Troubleshoot and repair issues during installation or service visits;
Provide technical support and training to customers during and after installation;
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical manuals;
Ensure installations meet company quality standards and customer expectations;
Maintain detailed service reports, documentation, and communication with the home office;
Follow all safety protocols and procedures on-site;
Occasionally assist with equipment testing, assembly, or prep at the home facility.
Our ideal candidate will have:
High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification a plus;
2+ years of experience in a field service, mechanical, or electrical technician role;
Strong knowledge of both mechanical systems (e.g., pneumatics, hydraulics) and electrical systems (e.g., 120/240V wiring, PLCs);
Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation;
Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills;
Comfortable with extensive travel, often on short notice;
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record;
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various environments;
Experience with industrial automation, packaging equipment, or similar machinery;
Familiarity with PLC programming or machine control systems;
OSHA or similar safety training/certification.
