Position: Fiber Optic Installation Technician
Job Type: Full-time, Contract
Pay Range: $55,000 – $70,000 per annum

As a Fiber Optic Installation Technician, you’ll be on the front lines, bringing fast, reliable internet and voice services to homes and businesses. From installations to service calls, you’ll ensure every customer experience reflects the quality and performance Omnisol Technology is known for.

Fiber Optic Installation Technician 1099, Piece-Rate

Compensation: $115 per completed standard install + adders (see below)
Travel Per Diem: $100/day on approved travel assignments
Vehicle: Own pickup truck required (ladder/material transport)
Locations: Multiple service areas; periodic travel projects available

What You’ll Do

Install, activate, and troubleshoot fiber services (terminal → ONT/router/CPE).
Run drops, terminate neatly, verify light levels/signal, and configure services.
Educate customers; close out work with photos/notes to quality standards.
Pay Structure

Base piece-rate: $115 per completed standard single-service internet install
(includes drop up to standard footage, 1 ONT, 1 router, basic test/turn-up).
Adders (stackable):
Additional drop footage: pay increases for footage beyond standard.
Example: +$0.50/ft beyond 200ft (higher tier applies over 200 ft).
Additional equipment installed: pay increases per extra device installed.
Example: +$10 per mesh/AP/extender; +$20 per additional outlet/termination.
Multi-service configuration: pay increases for each extra service activated.
Example: +$25 for voice; +$25 for video (3-play adds both).
Travel techs: $100/day per diem on approved out-of-area assignments.
Pay cadence: Weekly (Net-21 ).
Volume varies by market/season; adders commonly push earnings above base.
Requirements (Must-Haves)

Pickup truck suitable for ladder/material transport; smartphone for work apps.
Ladder use up to ~28 ft; comfortable in attics/crawlspaces/outdoors.
Hand/power tools (drill/impact, basic fiber/CPE tool kit).
Valid driver’s license, clean MVR; able to pass background & drug screen.
Reliability, safety mindset, professional customer interaction.
Schedule

Typical 8–10 hour days; occasional weekends/holidays as needed.
Dispatch windows vary by market; travel projects posted as available.
