The company is currently seeking an experienced Material Planner.

Champion all efforts related to accurate inventory.  Prepare and maintain all cycle counting activities.   Verify and investigate material discrepancies, while managing for continuous improvement, constantly seeking opportunities for inventory accuracy.   Perform tasks focused on inventory movement and analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Daily cycle counts – generate list of parts to count, coordinate with the shops, working with shop to solve variances, post counts
Steel cycle counts – react to monthly steel counts provided by shop, investigate and post counts.
Extensive use of reports and spreadsheets to manage part counts per ABC classification strategy
Perform monthly cleanup of inventory related transactions
Manage and identify parts that may need to be changed to floor stock to support production
Approve customer returns
Return to stores/demands on stores – this is done as needed
Project clean-up – as projects come to a close, identify remaining material and make recommendations to return, scrap or keep.
Create and distribute inventory reports as necessary to monitor goals
Manage and follow up on “borrowed material” to keep inventory clean
Review slow moving and obsolete inventory to recommend disposition
Manage Parts Below Minimum reporting to create necessary purchase requisitions and production orders
Make floor storage-location adjustments to support production
Review of safety stock items in area of usage, safety stock settings, reorder quantities
Monitor/manage MRP settings in material master
Oversee and evaluate stock rotation
Plan the supply of safety stock items to most efficiently meet the demands
Perform transfer of stock transaction as necessary to keep inventory level accurate between facilities
Assist with PWC and JSOX Audit

Demonstrated Physical Abilities

Remain stationary for 50% of the time
Move/traverse throughout the office to access file cabinets and office equipment
Operate a computer and other productivity machinery
Inspect documents
Communicate with others through talking/hearing
Read/identify/assess forms and correspondence.
Education & Experience Required

 

Associate degree or experience in a design to order manufacturing environment
Strong computer experience including Microsoft Office
Excellent organizational and time-management skills required
Experience with inventory management
Strong analytical skills
Strong problem-solving skills
