Overview

The generator field service technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing all sizes of residential and commercial standby generators and automatic transfer switches.  Manufacturer specific training is provided but knowledge of engines and electrical systems required.

Energy Service Solutions, LLC is a drug and alcohol-free workplace.  Candidate must be able to pass a DOT drug and alcohol test and obtain a DOT medical card and chauffer’s license.  We operate some vehicles with GVWR over 10000#.

Duties/Responsibilities

-Perform annual service/maintenance work on residential and commercial generators

-Troubleshoot and repair generators of all sizes

-Communicate with customers throughout the maintenance and repair process

-Set up generator remote monitoring systems such as Generac Mobile Link and Kohler OnCue

-Maintain spare parts inventory

-Help maintain company equipment

-Attend manufacture training for various product types

-Maintain a safe working environment

-Maintain a neat and tidy company vehicle

-Keep tools and equipment organized

-Keep parts stocked and organized

Desired Skills/Experience

-Engine repair and maintenance

-Generator and transfer switch repair

-AC and DC Electrical troubleshooting

-Reading schematics

-Customer service

-Computer skills including using MS Office and Outlook

-Experience with using PC based programs for connecting and troubleshooting electronic control modules

-Use DVOM, current clamps, and testing adapters

-Welding/fabricating

Salary: $23.00-$26.00 per hour

Schedule:

-8-hour shift

-Monday thru Friday

-On Call

Education:

-High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

-engine: 5 years (Preferred)

-electrical: 5 years (Preferred)
