Welcome Aboard! As a Dock Hand with Arnold Transit Company you’ll support the dock and ferry schedule to run smoothly. You’ll tag luggage, assist with bikes and pets, and ensure passenger embark and disembark safely. If you enjoy working by the water and being part of a dynamic TEAM, this is the job for you!
Arnold Transit Company, the largest ferry service connecting passengers to picturesque Mackinac Island, is seeking passionate Dock Hands to join our team working on our Docks!
Based in the stunning Northern Michigan, you’ll enjoy daily views of breathtaking shorelines of the Great Lakes, both Lake Huron and Lake Michigan as well as the Mackinac Bridge.
Mackinac Island is a globally renowned tourist and historical destination, attracting visitors from all corners of the world. While our peak season buzzes with activity during the warmer months, adventure seekers keep us going year-round. We’re on the lookout for dedicated and enthusiastic team players.

Your Contributions to the Crew
Welcome and assist guests in a professional and courteous manner.
Greet customers, answer questions and anticipate their needs.
Safely load and unload passengers, luggage, and bicycles
Participate and apply procedural and safety training.
Scan and collect tickets as customers board.
Inform and ensure safe behaviors by all passengers.
Maintain company standards of appearance and cleanliness.
Qualifications
Must be at least 16 years of age.
Ability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push, pull and lift items up to 65 pounds.
Available to work peak tourist times including nights, weekends & holidays.
Locations
Opportunities are on-site with our locations being Mackinac Island, Mackinaw City, and St. Ignace
