Overview
We are looking for a reliable and physically capable part-time driver to join our team! This position will require the driver to work on Tuesday and Thursday, with the ability to cover vacations and other random days as needed.
About Lake Area Waste
Start Time: 6:00 AM (end time varies depending on the route)
End Time: Usually completed by 2:00 PM
Job Type: Physically demanding—requires lifting heavy trash bags and moving heavy totes. Expect to be in and out of the truck 200 times daily.
Truck Type: All trucks are non-CDL.
Chauffeur’s License: Required for the position.
Location: Currently operating from South Boardman.

Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles to collect household waste from designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours.
- Follow assigned routes and schedules while adapting to any changes as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route status and any issues encountered on the road.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries.
Qualifications
- Valid Chauffeurs license
- Proven experience as a truck driver with a strong understanding of commercial driving practices. Willing to train the right person though.
- Strong route driving skills with knowledge of local and regional roadways.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines consistently.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and customers.
- Must pass a background check and dot physical/drug screening as part of the hiring process.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
